Lil Louis – French Kiss / Wargames – 1989 [Diamond Rec./ Warehouse]
From the mind of Lil Louis came the fantastic hit “French Kiss” that was spread throughout the balaeric Islands tourist resorts during the summer of 1989 and further spread during the autumn of the same year in the UK. This is the orginal release on Armando’s Warehouse sublabel DIamond records that was run by Lil Louis. It’s the debut record of the labels rooster. If you haven’t heard this female moaning and vary-speeding track before then you really should open up your ears after you’ve downloaded this.
This pressing is a repress of the original which is nice since my rip sounds a lot better than the original pressing should sound like.
“New York” is a quite minimal and monotone track for its time and a very stripped down rhythm track. Wheather “Wargames (Remix)” is a better than the original is unknown to me since I haven’t heard that. It’s apparently a track that many likes and is considered to be one of the golden classics of actionstyled chicago classics, which can be confirmed by listening to it. As for “jupiter”, it’s another of these classic chicago tracks with its Armando styled minimal acid house. If you’re seriously into classic acid house this is one you shouldn’t miss!

Nice one! I have the vinyl, but it’s in storage; hopefully your copy is a bit less crackly than mine too. Great record; I love his early Dance Mania tracks too; it’s a shame he produced so few records back then.
absolutely. this is a pretty good sounding rip — do you happen to have a copy of ‘frequency/how i feel’? could really use a copy of that. also: housefactors’ ‘play it loud’ on blackmarket…if anyone could sort 320’s of those out, i’d be eternally grateful. i’m sure i can return the favor…
Sorry Karl,
Don’t have that anymore. I lost it in the early nineties or something on some gig.
As for Housefactors, check your mail.

I have the Frequency/How I Feel Dance Mania release, but no way to rip it (living overseas, and all my vinyl is in storage in the U.S.). Next time I’m home, maybe I’ll work on ripping some stuff, but sadly it won’t be anytime soon..
